Ugly Alert - Ep79 Recap

So all creepy lawyer is here to do is try and ‘force’ Joon Soo to accept the official contract under Harabeoji’s presence and he puts up a good argument to do so (of course, since he’s a lawyer), but we all know his words contain ‘thorns.’ ヽ(#`Д´)ノ
Harabeoji (out of good intention) wants Joon Soo and In Joo to become official employees, but Joon Soo tells him that although he’s very thankful, he thinks he’s still not qualified and does not want to gain the position so easily (in which other workers had to work so hard for).

Mr.Douchebag cleverly words, "Yes, it’s true that despite your low education,  and that you’re over 30, with no work experience, there will be a lot of areas where you’ll feel pressure. But  we can ‘look over’ this  because we value talented people like you (UGH, how he words everything =.= damn you!!!) We want to use the chairman’s business philosophy of ‘everyone is equal’.
[see, on the surface he sounds totally ‘reasonable’ in front of Harabeoji, but his true intention is to hurt Joon Soo(; ̄Д ̄) and he has accomplished both]
Joon Soo says he’s grateful that they value a person like him…and then a smiling Harabeoji (who’s oblivious to the whole situationo( ><)o) urges him again, to become an official employee. Creepy Lawyer sits at the side and looks on all satisfied, like he’s finally going in for the big catch…
Again, Joon Soo politely declines his offer saying that he is still lacking and doesn’t want to climb up so fast.
Mr. Douchebag butts in, spitting out his venom, saying that he already entered the company so fast with the help of Do He and In Joo, and even becoming an integral part of the design team due to his ‘special’ contract under In Joo. [(¬、¬) stop it with those thorny words of yours!]
It’s as if Harabeoji is offended by his words as well and tells him “You can’t say that. If he did not possess the talent, then he wouldn’t have become an integral part of the team.” (HMPH! SO right!)
"Youngster" he calls out to Joon Soo, "it’s a virtue to be polite, but you shouldn’t waste your time because of that. Think about it more. All you have to think about now is how you will work harder after entering BY."
In Joo and Do Hee are worried about Joon Soo after hearing that Creepy Lawyer is there with him…but they meet them in the hallway. Creepy Lawyer intentionally asks to speak to Harabeoji, eyeing Do Hee as he says this…
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the office, Do Hee says Creepy Lawyer probably won’t tell Harabeoji, because he would’ve done so up on the rooftop.
Back in Harabeoji’s room, Creepy Lawyer says that Joon Soo might be feeling ‘inferior’ so he’ll personally find a way to convince him to sign the contract. (¬、¬)
Harabeoji thinks otherwise and says "isn’t it better for him to think about it first." (OH GREAT and WISE HARABEOJI! ヘ(_ _ヘ)  )
But then Creepy Lawyer, with his clever words, tells him that as a lawyer he is worried about the position a contracted worker takes in such an important department like the design team, where it’s easy for information to ‘slip out’. He adds, especially towards contracted workers, the outside world is very ‘tempting’. (All in the meanwhile, Harabeoji is totally giving him a displeased look (well from my perspective), hahaha).
"You think he’s going to sell himself out(give info to other companies)?" Harabeoji just directly says what he’s trying to say. (¬、¬)
"Well to me, he looks like a good friend to Do Hee, and Do Hee thinks so as well. I don’t think he’s that type of person."  (*´・v・)
Creepy Lawyer’s face goes sour and he says "I’ll take note…if he can become Do Hee’s ‘good friend’ or not."  ( ̄ー ̄)[ uh, no thank you, you don’t have to nor have the right to!]
Mr.Douchebag is full out on the attacks today, and he stands in front of the three, practically forcing In Joo to sign the contract (in which she makes clear she won’t!)
Do Hee tells him that In Joo was scouted by her, and she’s in charge of the design team, so is he not ‘crossing the boundaries’?
"You’re all very weird. Why are you rejecting such a good opportunity  Both of you worked so hard. Was that not for him to gain everyone’s approval? I really don’t understand you guys. In fact, this will only lead to the misunderstanding from the employees."
Joon Soo speaks out and says "did you not say so yourself, the reason  for my rejection? My education and resume is not up to par."
"Thats why I need to especially ‘take care of you."  (;¬_¬)
"I don’t need to be taken care of. All I want is to gain the true meaning of ‘acknowledgement’.
"The true meaning of ‘acknowledgment’? You think that’s possible (with your credentials)?" Mr. Douchebag smugly asks back. "Other than already knowing more of your ‘disqualifications’, (you could use) the legal fact that you confessed and had a lighter sentence (got let out early) as your personal reason. Think about it carefully."
ヽ(●-`Д´-)ノ ARRRGGG!!! *screams In Joo (and me)"If he were a prosecutor, he’d be invincible! " (because prosectors can force anything out of a person)."Why couldn’t he just tell you to directly say out everything and just leave yourself!?" (IOW, why beat around the bushes so much!?…Well if he did that, he wouldn’t be creepy/douchebag lawyer, would he?(¬д¬。)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ugh, Joo Young’s mother is so annoying. She wants to be no.1 when she blatantly doesn’t have the ability to. She tells her daughter to marry someone she doesn’t love (when SHE, herself, had the right to marry someone she loved) just so she can keep her position in the company. SELFISH!!!
Joo Young has finally grown a backbone and out-right tells her selfish mother "No matter what you say, my thoughts will not change. I will marry a man that I love! Don’t use my marriage as a means to satisfy your ambitions!"
YEAH!  d=(´▽`)=b
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Harabeoji is here to test Jung Yeon’s new menu and he brings up Joon Soo while eating. He tells the two that Joon Soo is still indecisive about whether to become an official employee or not. Lawyer Lee is also ‘worried’ as well (pah! =.=). He tells Do Hee’s father to also try and convince Joon Soo.
His face is apprehensive though, but he agrees to that. Jung Yeon looks on at her husband, a bit worried.
I think Do Hee’s father hasn’t registered YET that if Joon Soo signs on, his ‘past’ will get revealed (or does he?) Is he weary because of this fact?
I like how even when Harabeoji is eating, he still thinks of Joon Soo. It shows that he really cares for him.
And so, I really hope that Do Hee’s father and Harabeoji (with their grand hearts) accept Joon Soo when they find out, and help him become an official employee of BY. In the end, they are the important game-players and it is their decision that will change the face of the situation…
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(✿ ♥‿♥) comforting time!
Do He sighs and asks “what can we do now?”
"Although I haven’t achieved (that goal) yet, I will show them that I’m doing my best." Joon Soo tells her.
He turns to leave to go to the factory, but she reaches out and clings onto his hand.
He smiles and tells her, " I won’t apologize (like he normally would), but instead I will work hard and learn at the factory."
"Thats why, I can’t say "let’s stop fighting and escape", right?
"That’s not Na Do Hee’s style."
"And it’s not Gong Joon Soo’s style as well." She adds.
He smiles and then takes both of her hands and clasps them in his (and I thought he was going to kiss them because it looked like it xD ♥(ノ´∀`) ) and they continue to smile brightly, looking lovingly into each other’s eyes.
gyahhhh~~~(´ ▽`).。o♡ *that totally makes up for all the creepy lawyer attacks*
Let me embrace thee, sour adversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.

*tissues out everyone, tissues out! 。゜(`Д´)゜。
Nari tells Jin Joo she can’t take part in the drama “Bravo Papa” because she’ll never get the emotions right (since the story is of a father who has a criminal record…just like hers).
Jin Joo calls Joon Soo out and tells him about Nari, saying that they always avoided the problem and it made Nari think too much. She must think that they couldn’t open their mouths to talk about ‘him’, and that in her mind he’s a bad person. The fact that she is his daughter, must make her feel bad.
Joon Soo simply asks her “what kind of person is ‘cho-gi’ to you? Can you tell Nari that?
The next day, all 4 of them visit their parents to finally make things clear.
"Nari, not all memories are nice. Why did she blindly make such a decision? Why did she not think of the result? Why is there only one way to protect someone you love?"
"It’s the same for Oppa as well, Nari." Hyun Suk says. "Maybe that person will always be a stranger to me. Because he went on a path he shouldn’t have."
"It’s the same for Keun Oppa as well, Nari." Joon Soo says to everyone’s surprise. "To mom, to us, he left a burden for everyone. That’s why I also resented him as well."
And the Nari says something she always thought was true, "if it weren’t for me, then things would be different."
Jin Joo apologizes to her and tells her she said a lot of things she shouldn’t have when she took her back from the orphanage. It was because she was too tired, too angry, but she really didn’t mean to say those hurtful words.
"But all this happened because of my father."
"But Nari, there’s something you don’t know. This person here…is an even nicer person than your Keun Oppa." Hyun Suk tells her. "Although he made a wrong decision,  but I don’t hate him for it."
(And if you haven’t teared up enough already…. ╥﹏╥)
Jin Joo brings out these little ballet shoes and finally says…
"These are the ballet shoes…..fa…father gave me when I was little" *sobsobsob╥﹏╥* “Although I wanted to throw them away, I never could. To me…he was that kind of person.”
Nari hugs her sister and says she always thought she shouldn’t have been born because she was that man’s child…
and Hyun Suk tells her "If it weren’t for you…we wouldn’t all be standing here like this."
。・゚゚・(>д<)・゚゚・。
They’ve come such a long way. From hating their fate, to embracing and accepting what fate gave them. A family not fully blood-related, through each obstacle, only came out holding hands and becoming stronger.
It’s really, simply, that touching and beautiful. * I just can’t* (ノД`)・゜・
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do Hee and In Joo are discussing their problem and In Joo analyzes "to your grandfather and father, they will not reject Joon Soo because of his ability. The only reason he’ll be rejected (from being your partner) is because of his past. But no matter how hard you work at it, you can’t change his past."
Do Hee says she knows that as well.
"Then, don’t you have your answer? The only thing you guys can do, is ‘escape’ the problem and before you go crazy…"
"But we should at least show them, that we won’t give up even though we can’t change his past, and we’ll only keep moving forward. We’re doing our best to become a better person. We never tried to escape."
[YES! That’s the spirit Do Hee! Now if it were a typical makjang drama with typical grandparents and parents, then this would drag out to god knows when. BUT THIS IS NOT! Harabeoji and her father are understanding people. If Do Hee tells them and shows them what she said today, they WILL stand by her. It’s only a matter of time!!!]
Anyway after that, Creepy Lawyer is standing RIGHT OUTSIDE In Joo’s place, to Do Hee’s disgust.
"You’re really despicable, stalking me now? Why is someone working in the name of the law, ignoring THE LAW?" (exact sentiments over here  (¬、¬))
"You should stop playing the ‘game’ and return to your original position." He tells her.
"Game?"
"Then what are you doing now? You’re playing a love game with a man that has a criminal record, aren’t you?
"Looks like I have to tell you straight out today.
I bet my everything in life… and chose Gong Joon Soo.”
Do Hee ah, why are you so COOL? \(*T▽T*)/
