Ugly Alert - Ep114 Recap

Joon Soo saves Nari in time and before she falls unconscious she tells him she remembers everything…

At the hospital everyone is confused as to why Nari would have mindlessly crossed the road while talking on the phone…

The lady who nearly crashed into Nari is also at the hospital and says it seems Nari said something to Joon Soo before falling unconscious. This bothers Hyun Suk and he tries to get at every chance to ask Joon Soo what she said, but he won’t tell him. 

Nari won’t open her mouth and the doctor says too much stress and trauma is the cause…

One scene I particular liked was when Hyun Suk kept on asking Joon Soo what happened, and Nari suddenly reaches out and holds onto Joon Soo’s hand, silently telling him not to and then Joon Soo tears up as she grasps on to him…

(Im Joo Hwan has portrayed his inner struggle in ALL of these scenes SO well. Makes my heart wrench TT_TT)

Do Hee thinks that she’s the one that’s hurting Joo Young (because creepy lawyer is using her to get back at Do Hee).

“I’m getting hurt too, because you chose Gong Joon Soo." He replies *barf* (　ﾟДﾟ)＜!!

"Even if there wasn’t Gong Joon Soo, I would never choose a person…wait you aren’t one."

BUUUURRRNNNNN hahahahahah(･｀ｪ´･)つ Anyway, she tells him that no way in hell would she choose him =.=

And it’s as if hasn’t “given” up Do Hee because he says,

"Even if there wasn’t Gong Joon Soo, you would see my good intentions one day" *barf again*

He tells her he’ll wait a long time for her and Do Hee tells him if he had the slightest bit of sincerity (which…is impossible) he wouldn’t have used Joo Young to get revenge on her and Joon Soo.

"If love becomes a sickness, one can become very stubborn."

"Don’t talk about love. You don’t even know what it is." 

She tells him to let go of Joo Young and just to fight with her and Joon Soo instead.

"To Gong Joon Soo, you and Gong Hyun Suk are the things that bring pain to him the most. Why shouldn’t I use this card then?"

He starts to leave and Do Hee tells him that Joo Young will come around soon and he’ll be left standing without a bride.

But he confidently tells her that it’s because of ‘love’ that she’ll definitely be at the wedding…

*sigh* and Do Hee thinks Joo Young is getting hurt because of her *shakes head* Nope. That’s not the case…

MOST EMOTIONAL SCENE OF THE DAY *rips tissues out*

When Joon Soo and Nari finally have their alone time, he asks her

"Do you remember…all of it?"

She doesn’t have to say anything because she tears up right away. 

"I’m sorry…but Oppa…" He can’t finish his sentence and she leans in to hug him, at the same time lightly patting his shoulder as well. o(；△；)o

He then tells her, “I never knew at that time…I’d bring pain to you.”

They both choke up at his words…

and then literally…literally right around the corner stands Hyun Suk…⊙︿⊙

…who has heard it all.

Now on to the ….less emotional stuff.

Nasajang-nim is here to tell Jung Yeon of his plans to leave with her to America, but she says how can they when there are so many problems going on? (it’ll be hard on Do Hee she says)…

Also, once Nasajang-nim leaves, he plans to give his position to Joo Young’s father…

Everyone’s like “WHY are you leaving when all these problems are arising (with no resolution in sight…)? 

Although I’m not sure if they’d be of better help if they stayed, but still…it seems like they’re just trying to run away from the problem when they should instead face it.

Anyway, Airhead mother says she’ll give half of her shares to Creepy Lawyer for now and the rest after the marriage happens.

"You still don’t trust me?" He asks. 

"Shouldn’t trust slowly build up?" 

She says it will when she sees a happy Joo Young.

The lawyer Do Hee asked to help look into Joon Soo’s case again, tells her after discussion, their is a possibility for a retrial. However, they have to look into the opinion from Joon Soo to make it happen (er…..that’s going…to be hard…), and he tells her not to have high expectations for that…

But, she’s optimistic anyway…

The lawyer is confused though because he asks, “there is a possibility that it could’ve been self-defence or unintentional murder…but why do you need it (this outcome)?”

"Because then, he won’t be a murderer."

Before Do Hee steps back into the car, she looks back at the law office with a face full of confidence…

*SIGH*

Yes, this is the right way to go Do Hee…but Joon Soo’s going to be stuck between you (his love) or Hyun Suk (his family).

Another emotional moment…

Joon Soo stands in front of his mother’s picture and asks her,

"Mom, what are we going to do with Nari?

Back then, I really thought that was the only way. It was the way…of not letting go of each other’s hands…

No matter when, I only thought of those words: family never lets go of each other’s hands.

But now…I might have to let my hand go.

To hold on more tightly again, I should’ve called out to Hyun Suk..

And then, we should’ve held onto each other’s hands and went through this together…”

*BAWLS*

How hard it must’ve been for Joon Soo…to have lived by those words all his life…

Hyun Suk just needs one thing now: Nari’s testimony.

He sends everyone back home (without them knowing it was on purpose…)and he gets the doctor to help Nari undergo hypnotization.  

If he wants the truth, it has to be now…

The doctor tells her to imagine that she is 6, and to go back to her most happiest memory. She smiles saying that it was when her Keun Oppa was piggy-backing and singing to her…

"Then…let’s go back to ‘that day’…it rained. What is your Keun Oppa doing?"

Her expression immediately changes and she refuses at first, but the doctor tells her not to be scared as everything is in the past now…

"Oppa was holding on to him."

"What else?"

"Cha-Geun Oppa is leaving."

“And…what else?”

"Nails."

"What nails?"

"Keun Oppa is holding onto someone…but it seems like he’s already dead.

Keun Oppa didn’t kill him.”
