Ugly Alert - Ep124 Recap

The reporter asks how Do Hee took out the courage to love someone who she knew was a ‘murderer’,

"Since I was little, I grew up listening to the words my grandfather said about people being the most precious things. Although he was someone who took away someone’s precious life, I still believed in him. When I looked at him, I thought ‘for this person to commit such a crime, he must have had some hidden reason.’ Even if the whole world threw rocks at him, I wanted to endure it with him. To me, this is love."

Do Hee congratulates Joon Soo on being freed from the title of a ‘murderer’ and holds out her hand. Joon Soo sees she has put her bracelet back on and he suddenly thinks back to when their relationship suffered the hardest set-back and when he told her he’d continue knocking on her heart’s door until she opened it up. The memory of him first putting on the bracelet appears and Do Hee’s voice echoes back saying that they’ll have lots of kids so she can put bracelets and necklaces on for them…

Harabeoji tells the shareholders that if it were like what creepy lawyer said, why would Hyun Suk resign from being a prosecutor then? He asks them all to think about one thing.

Of course, as this is the ‘start ‘of the relationship again, we’re…basically back to square one.

They’re not going to rush things, they just want to get to know each other again. And although I’m super happy for them, I can’t help but feel a bit sad… (since we don’t have much time together, I want to see more of you guys like you were before TT_TT….)

After surviving his near-death experience, Joon Soo and Hyun Suk try finding the beads at night. Joon Soo even knows the exact number of beads because he tells Hyun Suk they haven’t found them all yet…

Hyun Suk is is till oblivious to Joon Soo and Do Hee’s fragile relationship and only catches on when Joo Young comes by and points out that that bracelet looks like Do Hee’s.

Joo Young is the one to tell Harabeoji that Joon Soo has nothing to do with the murder case and instead Hyun Suk is.

She sits down and tells him why she had to marry creepy lawyer.

"Just like you objected to Joon Soo and Do Hee marrying, I’m sure you will be the same towards me…but I’m also certain that Hyun Suk did not kill anyone. It was an accident, and Joon Soo sacrificed himself to protect his brother. This is the truth."

Hyun Suk hands himself into the police and the detective asks him if he thinks this is the best thing for Joon Soo. The detective tells him that he felt suspicious at first and thought things just didn’t match up. But after awhile, he began understanding why Joon Soo made that decision.

"The real culprit Lee Kyung Tae’s father wanted to catch was not Gong Joon Soo, but Gong Hyun Suk, you. If your brother didn’t take the blame at that time, perhaps you wouldn’t even be living now…

I’m asking you not as a detective ,but as a person who knows you two well, is this really the best thing for your brother?”

Hyun Suk calls Joon Soo to the park and the brothers have a tearful confrontation…

"What am I, to you? Why did you become a murderer for me? You even nearly committed suicide. I was the real murder…so why did you…"

Joon Soo tells him he’s not a murderer…it’s all his fault (>.<). Hyun Suk grabs his collar and asks him,

"Do you want to know what you really did wrong? It was not because you became a murderer because of me. It’s because you didn’t give the opportunity to let me love you. That’s why I was always the one that robbed you of your life. "
