Sohyun thanks actor Lim Joo Hwan for naming 4minute as his favorite girl group
Actor Lim Joo Hwan was discharged from the military today and to commemorate the occasion, he held an event at the Yongsan-dong military base to reveal his thoughts and answer questions from the press.
One question he was asked was if there was a favorite girl group he had in mind, who had kept him going during the tough 2 years of service.
Lim Joo Hwan didn’t hesitate in answering, as he immediately remarked, “As I’ve mentioned often times before, it is 4minute.” He then added, “These days, I’m on the verge of moving onto SISTAR, but even then, it is still 4minute for me,” bringing laughs.
Hearing of his continuous support of her group, 4minute’s Sohyun showed her appreciation through Twitter, writing, “Wow~ Lim Joo Hwan-nim Thank you. We congratulate you on your discharge, and are happy that we were of strength to you. Salute.”
Welcome back Lim Joo Hwan!

Im Joo-hwan released from military service

Im Joo-hwan is back! Granted he’s not in a new project just yet, but he has just completed his two-year service in the military. He was discharged on February 16, after having enlisted in May 2011, and is now back among our civilian ranks.

If you don’t remember much about Im Joo-hwan, it’s probably because he had a bit of a late start in his career and was just hitting his stride when army duty called. He had some minor roles in earlier dramas (A Love to Kill in 2005, Snow Queen in 2006), then acted in the 2008 ero-sageuk Frozen Flower. He played Kim Bum’s hyung in Boys Before Flowers the next year, and then really made his presence known (sorta) with 2009′s quirky comedic sageuk Tamra the Island.

Seo Geon Woo/The Snow queen - Recap Ep 14

Im Joo Hwan in HIM Magazine and Prepares for His Discharge this Week

While he may not be an A-lister in Korea, he’ll forever have my love and goodwill after Im Joo Hwan delivered a career-making performance as the exiled Joseon nobleman Park Kyu in the underrated Tamra the Island. It’s weird how I’ve watched so many In Joo Hwan performances because I was checking out the movie or drama for someone else, and he always makes me sit up and notice him. In Snow Queen, despite scruffy math genuis-turned-boxer Hyun Bin brooding his way into redefining sexiness all-around, Im Joo Hwan held his own as a prickly doctor who was smart and decent. He was also one of the many flower boy warriors in A Frozen Flower. He’s been off serving in the military for the past two years, leaving even before his finished drama What’s Up started airing. He has such a baby face I was surprised he was close to the age limit for service. Im Joo Hwan gets released this week on the 16th of February and I’ve got my eyes firmly focused on his next steps. Will Korea give this talented guy a break with the right project? I think he’s phenomenal in sageuks and I wish he got released earlier and could have joined either Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love, or even the fantasy Gu Family Book. There is also the sageuk The Unauthorized Biography of Admiral Lee Soon Shin with Uhm Tae Woong, or even the still planning stages Sword and Flower, which isn’t a sageuk but still a period drama. Not to mention Goddess of Fire Jeongji, about the life of the first female pottery maker in Joseon, which has been courting Moon Geun Young for ages but after she just wrapped Cheongdamdong Alice I doubt she’ll jump back into another drama. I’m getting way to excited to cast this boy in something. To welcome back In Joo Hwan, enjoy some recent pictures of him in HIM Magazine (the official military magazine) posing prettily and hosting a military event.

The Suicide Forecast (Suspicious Customers) - Review

A comedy that revolves around suicide inevitably has to be soaked in black humor. "The Suicide Forecast" tries to keep its overall tone very joyful despite its subject and does so by also introducing a surprising amount of slapstick moments. The interesting plot of a insurance salesman whose future existence depends on whether he can help others to find the courage and will to live again can instantly captivate and Byeong-woo is absolutely the right, at first even hateful, individual who little by little also comes to appreciate the value of life and by doing good deeds, which he is forced to do out of selfish reasons, actually seems to be becoming a better person. Being enriched by some interesting supporting characters this promises to be a fun ride.
