Ugly Alert - Ep88 Recap

Short recap: Creepy Lawyer was a jerk and bought out the supply so Joon Soo and them couldn’t continue with their new product. The stress of the situation made Harabeoji suffer a heart-attack…
Haraeboji gets sent to the hospital and his family is outside waiting for the operation to be over. Joo Young’s mother is being particularly annoying, screaming and shouting and placing all the blame on Do Hee =.=.

In Joo and Joon Soo look for the supplier and find that he has gone on a ‘trip’ to Japan. They point out how suspicious it was for Yong Jin (rival company) to buy out all the supply, but the worker says he didn’t have any part in the deal, it was all under the control of the president (of the company).
Thankfully, the operation is a success and Haraeboji will be out in a week. The family goes out and Do Hee’s father wants to get straight to work, while Joo Young’s father tells him to stay with Harabeoji (Joo Young’s mother aka Miss.Air Head doesn’t want to ‘lose’ out and says she’ll stay as well). She tells creepy lawyer to ‘use his ability’ to clear the mess up.
"Lawyer Lee…why are you here, you’re not even family."  Joo Young’s father wonderfully remarks (hahaha! yes!)(≧∇≦)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joon Soo and In Joo take a break at a coffee shop and Joon Soo worries they might have to think of a new concept if they can’t obtain the material. In Joo, originally all annoyed by everything, brightens up immediately after seeing Hyun Suk.
Hyun Suk asks about Harabeoji and what the whole situation is right now, and In Joo quickly gets up to ‘push’ Joon Soo out of the way ^▽^, and gladly explains to him. Hyun Suk says he might be able to help this time as this case is clearly a violation of the ‘fair trade law’.
Right, it’s all because of that sneaky Lawyer Lee. He must had done something, In Joo comments.
"Is it really him? Even knowing that it will bring great loss to the company?" Joon Soo questions.
"You think he’d care about that? A person like him who knows the law, will of course know how to use it to his advantage.(EXACTLY!) He probably made sure to leave no trace as well."
Hyun Suk thinks for a while and remembers that “hyung soo”  (brother’s wife aka. Do Hee,hehe) had a similar case of design infringement at her shop in Dongdaemoon before. At that time, the other side cancelled their charges because creepster lawyer’s father used his ‘connections’ to put a close to the case. He always felt there was something fishy about it so he kept on emailing the designer clearly stating his reason of interest.
So?
So, a few days ago he received an email from her saying she’d be dropping by Korea and said she had time to meet him ⊙0⊙!
Joon Soo says that perhaps the two cases don’t have anything in common.
As long as there is a a hint of violation, even though there might not be, we have to catch that guy’s weakness, then we wouldn’t have to get manipulated by him.”
(YES!!! so correct  (*´・v・)! Joon Soo definitely needs a smart person like Hyun Suk to be behind the ‘real law’ to help him defeat that scumbag! )
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back at the evil headquarters, Minion A voices her ‘concern’ about the loss they will incur through this transaction. Even though she knows he’s rich, the amount this time is really substantial.
"What you bought is garbage, and you’ll have to continue investing in the future. How will you be able to get rid of the supply?"
Creepy Lawyer nonchalantly tells minion A she’s not as smart as she seems (=.=).
"How will they continue without the material? Theoretically  it will be impossible for them to come up with a new concept."
"When everyone thinks there’s no way out, I’ll come out and negotiate with the supplier and ensure we have material."
Minion A suddenly smiles at his so called ‘brilliant’ idea and asks when he’ll swoop in to save the day.
"I must make them feel very thirsty, for them to realize the importance of water."  (;¬д¬).
Switch to Harabeoji and Nasajang-nim later on who speak alone. Haraeboji asks him if he’s certain that In Joo and Joon Soo are free from suspicion  and he says yes because it’s impossible for them to have invested such a large amount of money to do this.
Harabeoji then asks,
Are you also thinking of the ‘same person’ I am? (゜◇゜)
and Nasajang-nim nods.
WOWEE, so they were keeping tabs on creepy lawyer! At least they have a hunch! A really good one!
And so, later on Creepy Lawyer drops by to visit Harabeoji and tells him using other ‘methods’ he got ahold of the supplier. They ask if the problem can be resolved and he complacently tells them it can with the ‘help’ of his (oh so great) father =.=. He tells them his father has a friend in America who owns a clothing company and they helped him negotiate with President Jung (supplier).
"They had a lot of help from my father before, so they’ll be most willingly to help me as well."
Oh let’s see how much you can use your ‘father’ in your plans from now on =.= There will be a limit, hmph.
All in the meanwhile Nasajang-nim eyes creepy lawyer carefully and suspiciously…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jung Ja sshi opens her phone after a long time and sees her flowing inbox filled with concerned messages from Ahjussi ("are you still alive?! being one of them xD) and Jin Joo asking her to come visit her. Aigoo…Jung Ja sshi cries after reading the message and the next day she goes to the hospital to visit Jin Joo.
Jin Joo gives her the bankbook and tells her to use it to repay her debt. She tells her not to tell Chul Soo because it’ll hurt his pride. Jung Ja Sshi says she can’t accept it…after all that’s happened.
Jin Joo further tells her if that’s not enough, she can use her house as collateral.
Jang Ja Sshi gratefully hugs her and asks why she’s so lucky to have such a good daughter-in-law like her (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ
I think Jung Ja Sshi has learned her lesson. She’s definitely going to change her ways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do Hee ‘finally’ comes to the Gong Family’s house and is absolutely thrilled, hehe. She tells them Joo Young always boasted in front of her about coming here and Joo Young’s like “oh, so that’s why you suggested to have the meeting here!”
Do Hee sits down and looks up to their family picture, focusing especially on a beaming Joon Soo *(*´∀`*)☆.
The brothers bring some drinks over (milk…yes milk….) and Hyun Suk serves his “hyung soo” first .(KYAHHHHHH, she’s totally loving that name, isn’t she?)
Joo Young’s jealous and asks why Joon Soo doesn’t call her “Jae Soo” (‘younger’ sister-in-law) and Joon Soo’s like “err…what?”
My brother is originally a careful person.” Hyun Suk smugly replies. Buahahaha ¬‿¬
Do Hee gets a call from Joo Young’s father and updates him on their findings. Hyun Suk jokes that Joo Young is getting ‘isolated’ from her family as well(playing on Joo Young’s earlier remark about him getting isolated from his family).
"Why would your father not call his own daughter and call his niece instead?”
“Well, he’s a person who respects an orderly system, so it’s natural to report to Do Hee (who’s in charge)” she retorts.
Do Hee asks them how she and Joon Soo can have their meeting when both of them are so noisy? Hehe.
It’s here where Nari pops in and she’s ecstatic to see her Keun Oppa (ignoring her other Oppa, hahahahaha). She politely asks Do Hee if they’ve eaten and Joo Young’s like “what about me?” and she asks her as well but in a much more casual manner. Ahahahahah, oh Nari (∩_∩)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They have a ‘fried chicken’ dinner thanks to Hyun Suk (well, he was basically forced by Nari ¬‿¬) .
Nari politely and sweetly asks Do Hee what kind of chicken she likes and helps her get a piece.
Joo Young asks Nari,
"You said Do Hee and I were different right? Weren’t you going to be hard on her?"
"She already passed! Why would I continue doing so…it’d be weird."
HAHAHAHA.(*~▽~)
"When? When did she pass!?!" A shocked Joo Young asks.
"It’s a secret only between us two." She smiles at Do Hee. "I’ve already confirmed she really loves my Keun Oppa, so I won’t be hard on her from now on."
AWWWW ><!!!!
Joon Soo pats Nari’s head praising her saying her heart is wider than the Pacific Ocean! Tehehehe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems Joon Soo and fellow Prof.Park have been formulating an idea for some time now…
Eccentric, like In Joo, we get our first glimpse at the guy Joon Soo’s always been heading to. Professor Park…picking away at his toes with a ruler…in his chemistry lab. =.=
In Joo asks him how much more experiments he has to go through. Haven’t they gone through enough already? She tells him she knows he’s a perfectionist, but now isn’t the time to be selfish.
Prof.Park tells them doing many experiments to test the durability of their ‘product’ is one reason he’s stalling, but another is because…
"I’ve become fat recently."
What?!
He says they’ll have to meet reporters once they release their findings….he has to look his best. (DUDE, you’re not fat >..>)
In Joo is prepared to hit him again…but then Do Hee appears and Prof.Park’s eyes light up. He gets up and politely bows acting all shy which brings laughter to In Joo when she tells him Joon Soo and Do Hee are lovers.
His expression immediately changes and he slumps back into his chair.
He then tells them if they want their material to become practical, they’ll have to make use of a processing factory (I guess he’s concerned with producing large quantities?).
Do Hee thinks for a bit and lights up, telling him that there’s a place called DongDaeMoon, that is known for their ‘scary’ (ability) to manufacture (which earns a smile from Joon Soo)
"Even if it’s an atomic bomb, as long as they put their effort into it, they’ll make it."
Ahhhhh….I’m not too sure but I’m guessing that they’re going to ‘mass-produce’ this certain ‘new material’ at their Dongdaemoon factories?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the company meeting, creepy lawyer says that they might get their material in a week (it seems as if he ‘negotiated’ it already =.=)
Do Hee stands up and says she has something to say.
"When there’s danger, there is also possibility for opportunity.  Under the conditions of no supply of material, Teacher Kim and I have encountered a breakthrough.
*everyone’s eyes widen*
"Under these conditions, we have found a much more powerful strategy. This time, it is ‘contracted worker’ Gong Joon Soo who came up with this new idea. I’ll allow him to explain." In Joo says glaring at creepy lawyer.
Our handsome Joon Soo gets up and starts explaining.
"We elaborated  on the idea from the original material. Besides getting close to the environment, we also considered factors of health."
*Switch to presentation screen*
"Developing material using minerals."
"No mold, and no humidity. Using soil from 2 meters under the ground (some sort of special soil…something like "5 coloured soil", not sure of the eng. translation)…"
OKAY… and then from there it was really hard to translate but the gist of it is, they get rocks—>burn them—>turn it into a fine powder—> use this to make their new material.
And the camera also focuses in on the corner of the slide where you see a picture of spools of thread and under it saying “BY exclusive contract”. In other words, BY will be responsible for making the material and NOT some outside company.
HA! IN YOUR FACE scumbag lawyer! Let’s see what you’ll do with that ‘useless’ material of yours now, MUHAHAHAHAHA.  o(´^`)o
