Gong Jun Su/Ugly Alert - Ep19 Recap

Ugly Alert / Bravo My life - if you're into dailies

I've just caught the "dailies" bug and I'm not talking about contact lenses. I've watched like maybe 3 korean dailies in my not-so-short memory...the first is Pure 19 which starred Gu Hye Sun in her pre-BBF days where she was actually adorable and I actually liked her character. Everything she starred in post BBF didn't appeal to me. Anyway, that was an accident - I bought the VCD not realizing it was only part I (about 50 episodes). Silly me. I never made it past that though I did watch edited scenes of her and So Ji-suk as a happily married couple for the last 20 episodes maybe.

Next is I Live In Cheong Dam Dong, which I gobbled up within 2 weeks I believe...yup...all 170 episodes of it. And I join many others in recommending this sweet gem. Anyway, blinded by my love for Im Joo Hwan whom I adore beyond words since he charmed my socks off in Tamra, the island, I downloaded the first few episodes of Ugly Alert (previously known as Bravo My Life) just to check out his first drama post-army. And just like that, I was hooked.

Ju Hwan shows a great care for Kang So Ra

Ju Hwan's care for Kang So Ra is becoming a hot issue.

On June 5th, SBS drama 'Ugly Alert' team revealed a photo of Ju Hwan and Kang So Ra that was taken during a shooting.

In the photo, Ju Hwan is blocking the sun with his hand for Kang So Ra, who is reading through her script.

Even though Ju Hwan is getting all of the glaring sunlight on him, he is still showing a great care for Kang So Ra, and many netizens are showing great reactions for his good manner.

An official said, "Im Ju Hwan and Kang So Ra grew close very quickly, and they are always showing great care for each other. Please show a lot of support for the two. They will keep doing their best to show better looks in the drama."

First Impressions: Ugly Alert?!

No way man, you tell me that’s UGLY? I say Park Kyu hotness alert OKAY? There’s no way I’m gonna get around to this stupid title, maybe I should just use Fool’s Watch instead (which doesn’t exactly sound any better but hey, no ugliness innit?).

I did 10 episodes of this drama of a drama, and it’s one bag of …. dramatic! You’ve got to believe me if you haven’t watched, the gathering of all possible dramatic cliches and tropes you can think of, no miss! Accidents, deaths, OTT siblings, you name em…etc. It doesn’t get any sillier or makjang-er than this. But I’m still watching, and hooked.

Im Joo-hwan, Kang So-ra’s Watch Out For Fools

Im Joo-hwan (What’s Up) is back on television, and here are the pretty first stills from his new SBS drama starring opposite Kang So-ra (Dream High 2). They look lovely and fresh and ready for spring, but I’ll say it again: daily drama booooo.

The title is Watch Out For Fools, changed from its previous title Bravo My Life. The title isn’t a perfect fit, but it means something like “Warning: Fools Ahead.” According to scriptwriter Jung Ji-woo, writer of heartwarming weekend fare like Wish Upon a Star (Pick the Stars), Gloria, and Family Honor, the title refers to people who devote, sacrifice, and endure for the ones they love with such devotion that others might call them foolish or stupid. This drama will focus on said “fools,” who give so much to the selfish folks of the world, and will give them their own reversal.

Ugly Alert - First script reading

Im Ju Hwan:  "Now this is my time.  Soon I will rise from the ashes like a phoenix soaring to the sky.  Villiam, just you wait."

Kang Sora:  "Oh yes, take it from that angle capturing my hanging gorgeous hair so my fans can admire my unparalleled beauty.  I've practiced this pose all night."

Ugly Alert - Casts

Im Ju Hwan (Lim Joo Hwan) ... as ... Gong Jun Su - a man who has had a rough life and early on had to fend for himself. He takes the blame for a murder his younger sibling commits and serves time in prison. There he learns to sew and acquires a trade.

Kang Sora ...as ... Na Do Hee who has inherited her job because her grandfather built the company. But even though she inherited her position, she is serious about doing a good job and is something of a workaholic.

Park Kyu & Beo Jin [Tamna] - Catch Your Wave

Is anyone else watching this drama?

It's my new fave! It is so HILARIOUS! XD

Park Kyu is an exile (for being a womanizer! haha) from Han Yang (Seoul) who comes to Tamna (Jeju Island). Then Beo Jin is the daughter of the village's head diver and a diver herself. Trouble (also fun and perhaps love~) ensues when Park Kyu is assigned to stay at Beo Jin's house.
